James Bond is a fictional British Secret Service agent, code-named 007, created by novelist Ian Fleming. While the character originated in literature, he is best known for his film adaptations.

The character's first cinematic appearance was in the 1954 TV adaptation of *Casino Royale*, where he was played by Barry Nelson. However, the modern film franchise began in 1962 with *Dr. No*, starring Sean Connery.

Daniel Craig portrayed James Bond in five films, beginning with *Casino Royale* (2006) and ending with *No Time to Die* (2021). This era is often considered a darker, more grounded interpretation of the character.
